Over time, he has performed in orchestras conducted by Muhal Richard Abrams, Roswell Rudd, Paul Jeffrey, and Martial Solal, and with the Guimaraes Jazz Festival International Orchestra in Portugal, conducted by Maria Schneider, Bob Mintzer, and Kenny Wheeler. He has also performed with the orchestras of Italian artists Giorgio Gaslini (Grande Orchestra Nazionale di Jazz, Proxima Centauri), Riccardo Fassi (Tankio Band), Roberto Bonati (ParmaFrontiere Orchestra), and Enrico Intra (Civica Big Band) among others. others
On the Italian jazz scene, he has been a member of various groups, playing in trios with Roberto Cecchetto and Tiziana Ghiglioni; in quartets led by Roberto Bonati, Paolino Dalla Porta, Antonio Faraò, and Attilio Zanchi; in the quintets of Luigi Bonafede, Riccardo Fassi, and Giorgio Gaslini; in a sextet with Stefano Battaglia and Claudio Fasoli; in Barbara Casini’s Nonetto and with Daniele Cavallanti and Tiziano Tononi in Nexus Project and Big Band.
He was invited to Jazz Middelheim 1995 in Antwerp with the twelve-piece Riccardo Luppi Ensemble, for which he composed and arranged the original repertoire; in 1993, as a guest, for a month of concerts of the Aspen Music Festival Big Band in Colorado; and in 1996 with his Quartet at the Chicago Jazz Festival.
In 2010, he founded Mure Mure, a Brussels-based quartet together with vocalist Lynn Cassiers, bassist Manolo Cabras, and drummer Joao Lobo. The group toured Belgium and Portugal and performed at Ha-Hum Festival in Milano, Uncool Jazz Festival in Poschiavo, and Technopolis in Athens.
On the Belgian scene, he has played with Marek Patrman’s Invasion Quartet, Manolo Cabras’s Basic Borg, Augusto Pirodda’s The Monk and the Monkey Septet, and collaborated with Giovanni Barcella, Eric Vermeulen, Giovanni Di Domenico, Simon Groppe, and vocalist Eleonora Albani.
In 2020, he created his New Quintet with some of Milan’s most talented young musicians.
In 2023, with Wisdom Trio, he released As We Thought alongside Joe Fonda and Filippo Monico. In 2025, with Simone Massaron and Daniel Studer, he released ONE.
He is a co-founder of the M.M.C. Milano Music Collective, active since 2013, creating an annual concert season of original projects. Since 2014, he has collaborated with TAI NO-Orchestra, integrating musical improvisation with video performance.
Since 2000, he has taught Jazz at Italian State Conservatories, including the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan from 2010 to 2022.
He has made over sixty recordings as a sideman, ensemble member, and bandleader.
Outside jazz, he has worked with Enzo Jannacci and Ivan Della Mea, participated in theatre productions with Mariangela Melato and Toni Servillo, composed for film soundtracks, art installations, and contemporary dance projects.
